THIS IS A MEETING YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS.

LEARN ABOUT GREEN STEP CITIES
PRESENTATION BY RON BRANSTNER
Come to our Meeting
THURSDAY AUGUST 22, 2019
6:30 TO 8:00 PM

The Green Step City program is being implemented across the country and is being promoted heavily here in Minnesota by our current State administration, Met Council. and League of MN Cities. This is the GREEN NEW DEAL at the local level, sold as an environmental program, but it takes control away from your City Council and ultimately your voice in you local government.

For the past 8-10 years, Green Step Cities has been presented to City Councils as a voluntary program where they agree to 29 best practices. Over 120 cities/counties in Minnesota have signed up for this program -- not realizing that what was sold as "voluntary" becomes "mandatory". We as citizens lose control over our city, what happens on our own property, as well as a loss of control within our own homes. Ultimately we will find ourselves living under International codes/laws rather than those of our own making.

Example of their mandates: Does this sound like Light rail and 3 story multi family living facilities steps from the tracks?

Travel Demand Management Performance Standard The Travel Demand Management ordinance provides language for requiring investment in and expansion of infrastructure supporting non-single-occupancy-vehicle travel options during the development process. The ordinance is geared to dense areas or larger cities.

Transit-Oriented Development The TOD ordinance provides language for ensuring that development near transit infrastructure has an appropriate mix of land uses, sufficiently high density to support the public investment in transit infrastructure, and transit-friendly design of buildings and accessory uses.

Our presenter has spoken too several groups on the topic and will share what has happened in communities and how to stop this attack on our cities.

PLEASE RSVP by August 17, 2019 to this email.

Hope you can join us. An Educated citizenry can make things happen !
